About Monofactor

onur.jpgHi there. My name is Onur Oztaskiran. Currently located in various locations in the world, I’m a 9 years experienced professional designer / art director.

I also teach design graphics and web development, and create training cirriculums / materials for design students in an institute of art. Here’s a little more info:

mf.jpgAbout The Site

I had been running monofactor.com as my personal journal in turkish since 2004. By this year (2008), I decided to take the site global and relaunched with this new design

I used to separate my journal and portfolio as 2 different sites. With v3, integrated both. The main purpose of monofactor is to deliver news and articles about design industry, to share my professional experience and sometimes share my resources. Basically, you can find most of the things related to design in here.

The word monofactor comes from the mono factor analysis in physics. Says one element between many, which is not actually considered to be important may change the behavior of all elements when added, the journal is also about those important elements mostly ignored when we do design. Too deep for a site title huh.

My Background

I’ve been designing web pages and below-the-line materials for 9 years. Graduated from English language and literature and teaching english was my main profession - how boring is that when I have an awful grammar-. In 1998, I attended the UCSD Dept of Visual Arts for a media training. By 1999, I started working at the interactive and ad agencies as an illustrator / designer.

Since then, I’ve been trying to achieve the best visual results for the sake of audience likeness, on every work of mine. Having mostly worked at local top and boutique agencies as an art director, I also previously served to some of the big international companies as a freelance designer. For those interested in hiring my services, please refer to my portfolio to see sample works about them.

Thank you very much for reading that boring info so far and I hope you like what you see on this site and enjoy. That will be my greatest happiness. Really!

Thank you again.
