If you are a freelance provider, you know how hard it is to get paid well with selling your time and skills. But there are always other good alternative ways to gain money with skills and hard work.
And really I do not want to take your time with giving tips to make you earn max $75 a month, I want to talk about real at home revenue.
There are a couple of ways to collect recurring revenue when you are free of client work. All you need to do is keep working even you don’t have any clients in that period of time =) Alright, let’s get to it.
1. Get Blogging, Get Paid
Share your experience and thoughts, promote your stuff and give people nice things made by you.
This will generate a respectful traffic, resulting with getting your blog eligible to advertisers. If you are a regular writer, your blog will get noticed and it will take only a couple of months until you start reaching out people. The more people you reach, the more adspace rates your will have.
2.Sell Your Cancelled Client Work as Stock on Marketplaces
I’m sure all you designers have at least 20-30 pieces of good work psds left alone in your project archives and backup folders. Give them life with making them your products. Organize them and convert them to themes, templates and resellable items. Then you can put these up for sale on the following marketplaces:
- Istockphoto (for your vector illustration products)
- Themeforest (html themes, wordpress themes, psd templates-that one you will love-)
- Templatamatic (html themes, wordpress themes)
The more items you have in those, the more revenure in return.
3. Create Marketable Products
Well once you taste the warm cash coming up from above way, you might want to consider developing more products. People do need and love the following:
- Outstanding Designs as Photoshop Files
- Vector and Photoshop Illustrations
- UI Skins / Application Themes
You can develop some of these and maybe have your own marketplace one day. If you are a talented designer and do the above, my guess is you will gain from $2000 to unlimited amount of money per month.
Do you have any alternate ideas? Share with me on your comments. Thank you!
