Hah, gotcha!

Depending on the poll results, I know I told you that I wouldn’t change the previous design. But I did and I loved how it turned out.

For 2009, we will see this a little more corporate, less blog Monofactor. Of course that will not mean I will have less time for the blog.

Currently the site is in final beta, so please give it a couple of days to come together itself completely. Meanwhile, please let me know if you experience “404″s, browser bugs and anything you find crappy.

Behind The Scenes:

This version is built on wordpress 2.7. And the site version being 2.9 comes from the style; which is a middle approach between the design in 2004 (v2) and last one. Let’s not forget we’re on the door of 2009 as well.

The new wordpress and jquery libraries gave me much more speed and ease of use. Speaking of easiness, I started this design particularly as a wordpress template on sunday(07 Dec.), but decided to go with it for monofactor. Oh and don’t worry, the previous design will be released to you as a wordpress theme.

What I’ve been through:

After the design was complete, I thought it would be really really easy to code it up. It wasn’t so.

• Goodbye IE6: IE 6 users will see that they will have to upgrade their browsers, or will see monofactor like a monster. It is not compatible with 6 anymore and I don’t plan to; since my last month’s stats show that only 1/10 of my visitors used ie6.
• IE 7 : The newer brother also gave me tons of pain. So in some parts; sifr replacement is disabled, margin and paddings are a little disturbing (that you may not notice) and a few more small glitches, but at least no bugs. I mean I hope so.
• IE8: Um, I… Really not tested yet. Actually, I don’t even have an idea about how it looks, heh. But I will test it, eventually.

I hope you like this one more than the previous one. I really wish that.

Designinject?

Well, it turns out people only went to designinject for getting the icons downloaded. Among 1600 something user registrations, I expected a few collaborative souls to participate on the content of that community.

But since I saw no activity, DI will shut down by Jan 2009. I will move the content here and try widening the monofactor content in the future.
